Happy 75th Liberation Day!

This Sunday marks Guam's 75th Liberation Day! The island's annual liberation parade on July 21 is traditionally packed with crowds to celebrate Guam's freedom from Japan's cruel occupation. As part of our patriotism, we continue to celebrate and thank those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces to fight for the freedom that we enjoy today!

Happy 75th Liberation Day, Guahan! Biba Guahan!

38th PIBBA Annual International Conference a Success!

The 38th Annual Pacific Islands Bilingual Bicultural Association (PIBBA) Conference was a success! The conference theme, Our Language, Our Culture, Our Identity, We Stand Tall ~ A Tekinged, A Debsel, A Klingid, Me Kede Ulsemuul, was highlighted in each of the conference days from June 17-21, 2019. It was natural to hear everyone singing the PIBBA song, which includes all the languages of the region, such as the following chorus: “Iokwe, Raan Annim, Kaselehlia, Alii, Aloha, Olomwaay, Hafa Dei, Tuwoh, Mogethin, Talofa.”

Among the entities that attended the conference are CNMI, Republic of Palau, Pohnpei, and Guam. The mission of PIBBA is to bring these entities together to promote cultural and language activities by disseminating information, involving communities, and encouraging quality education programs through the western Pacific.

Deep gratitude goes out to all PIBBA Conference steering committee members, and all the entities that joined us to make the 38th Anuual PIBBA Conference a memorable event that will always be remembered! Mesulang!  Si Yu’os Ma’ase’! Kalahngan!  Kuloh!  Kinissow! Kommol! Kammagar!
