Learn about UOG’s academic programs, the admissions process, and how to apply for financial aid. UOG’s 60th Anniversary Launch – November 3
The University of Guam’s Commemoration Committee invites you to participate in the roll-out of the University’s 60th anniversary activities on November 3rd at the UOG Fieldhouse from 11a.m. to 1:30p.m. The UOG community will see major initiatives for campus expansion and improvements, recognition of business partners and individuals who have pledged to support UOG’s fundraising efforts, An plans to energize and galvanize our alumni, and the unveiling of the commemorative “Big G”. Students, staff, faculty, administrators, and alumni are invited. A fiesta lunch and entertainment will be provided. The UOG Alumni Reunion will be held at the Hyatt Regency Guam from 6p.m. to 10p.m. on Nov. 15. SCHOLARSHIPS

Parsons Scholarship - Deadline to Apply Oct. 14, 2011
University of Guam pre-engineering students who have completed ES201 Engineering Statistics or who are enrolled in the course for the fall 2011 semester are encouraged to apply for a Parsons scholarship.

Parsons, a construction and engineering firm, generously contributed $15,000 in scholarship funds to support pre-engineering students at the University of Guam. There are several Parsons Scholarships available for the fall 2011 semester worth up to $3,750 each. The scholarships will be awarded in October based on academic performance and financial need. Scholarship amounts will vary depending on a student’s financial need.

To apply for the Parsons Scholarship you must be a resident of Guam or the region and submit the following documents:

1. Application form

2. A one-page personal statement about yourself and your academic goals. In the statement explain why you are pursuing a degree in engineering.

3. A copy of your official transcripts

All documents must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office located in the UOG Field House by 5:00 p.m. on October 14, 2011.


Apply for the Upcoming UOG AmeriCorps program year

Each year we are look for bright students who are interested in improving our community and leaving a positive imprint on society. Members are tasked with maintaining a healthy relationship with community and their satellite program locations. We offer incentives for individuals who are selected for this position, which requires interested individuals to graciously devote their time and effort toward tutoring, mentoring, and volunteering in the community. Individuals may apply at the University of Guam AmeriCorps Success Center Administrative Office at the UOG Student Center or at any of the UOG AmeriCorps Satellites. Members are contracted to serve their community for one service year and are given a monthly stipend of around $400.00USD for a half-time position and around $800.00USD for a full-time position. Members are additionally required to volunteer between 20-32 hours a week. An education award is given to half time members who meet or exceed 900 hours total in a program year and/or 1700 hours for full time members in a program year.

BOOK SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The 50th Council of the University of Guam Student Government Association is pleased to announce that Book Scholarships for school year 2011-2012 are now available to all enrolled students of the University of Guam. Applications for UOG Student Government Association Book Scholarships are now available. The scholarship will be awarded to deserving full-time or part-time University of Guam students, granting them store credit of $150 at the UOG Triton Bookstore, valid from Fall 2011 to Spring 2012. Applications are available at the SGA Session Hall, Financial Aid Office, and each school’s respective offices. The completed application (required documents included) must be submitted no later than 7:00 p.m. on September 30, 2011.

UOG’S Upward Bound College Prep Program Accepting Applications – Deadline 9/30
UOG's Upward Bound (UB) college prep program is now accepting applications for SY2011-12. High school students from 9th, 10th, and 11th grade may be eligible to apply for the following free services and benefits including tutoring, college and career prep activities, self-development workshops, a summer program at UOG, and more! Only students who attend GW, JFK, SSHS, and Southern High may apply. Deadline to apply is Sept. 30th. Interested parents/ students may call 735-1992/ 2245 or go to the main TRIO Office at the UOG Field House, first floor for applications and information.
